Agent-less Anti-Malware for Virtual Datacenters
Announced at VMworld today, VMware has collaborated with Trend Micro, a leader in content security, to deliver the first agent-less anti-malware solution optimized for VMware virtualized desktops and servers. The newest release of Trend Micro Deep Security provides hypervisor-based introspection for all major AV functions. Delivering always-on, always up-to-date protection, the new anti-malware module eliminates "AV storms" that typically result from scheduled scans and updates, and also helps increase consolidation rates and cost savings through reduced memory consumption. The product will be commercially available in October.
